Aldershot Training Session, November 26th.
I went to Aldershot over the weekend of November 26th/27th to
take part in the Training session at the 50m Pool on the
Aldershot MOD Site.
The session was run by Simon Kidd, and eight Finswimmers
and Freedivers attended; we had two lanes and a full 90minutes
in the water. We did stretches, classic-swimming in warm-up
and mid-session relaxation work, Stereofin and Monofin work
both on and sub-surface, and also had about 15minutes
splash-time at the end of the session when we could practice
Starts, timed-swims and anything else we felt we needed to.
All in all this was an excellent swim session which everyone
enjoyed.
Club Merger
It has been decide in principle to Merge our club with Northern
Lights Finswimming , based in Newcastle / North Tyneside.
The merger is expected to take place initially with effect from
January 1st, 2012, although the full merger is expected to take
place over several months following that date. Full details will
be shown here, but any existing members of SaNDFinswimmers
will have their memberships fully transferred over to Northern
Lights Finswimming. Training sessions will resume in the New
Year at the same places we currently use and we may also be
able to offer alternative venues/dates and times.
