Our Latest Finswimming Notes and News

Sunderland Aquatics Centre open!
Sunderland's new £20million Aquatics Centre opened it's doors to the
public on April 18th, about a month earlier than envisaged.
I test-swam this pool on March 29th! I swam about 600m Front-crawl in
total - I took fins along but was unable to use them, as the session was
classed as "Public" -albeit a 'shakedown' session.
The pool is very comfortable to swim in, is very smooth, and in my opinion
may be a very 'fast' pool. There is little or no lane turbulence, and the pool
is well worth a visit. At the moment 50-m lane swimming is available on
Wednesdays 08.00-20.00 .

Interest grows in club
We have had a few more expressions of interest in the club and
what we are doing.
Another prospective new member came to our session on April
13th and enjoyed the session.
