Set SANDF090215

Stroke/Sprint Surface/APNEA Set swum by John Lavender, with Gateshead and Whickham ASC
Masters at Dunston Pool on  February 15th, 2009.

I am going to be swimming at the Belgian open Finswimming Championships on April 19th so
with the 15th February being 9 weeks prior to the event I have started my training build-up.
This set is designed to increase my stroke practice and endurance. The set was swum in the
same lane as two Competitive classic swimmers who are both also much younger than myself so
I had to fit-in with their set and this also limited my use of a monofin.
I used a variety of eyewear, Cressi-swim goggles, and a Face-mask by Speed-swim of Germany.
Swimwear was a Speedo Fast-skin kneeskin.

Warm-up
10x PowerBreathe reps.
Training fins on
100m front crawl,
100m front crawl with snorkel.          (200)

Main Set
2x 50m Surface with Alignment Kickboard (100)
4x 50m Full-stroke (200)
8x 25m APNEA, stroke (200)
4x 25m APNEA, medium speed (100)
4x 25m Side, L&R alternate, with Alignment Kickboard. (100)
Training Fins Off

5 mins recovery

Medium Monofin ON
3x 50m Surface, steady pace  (150)

That finished the training set as such but Matthew Grant of G&WASC was on hand to time me
over 25m APNEA; I did 0:16.51" and was quite pleased with the time, as it had been quite a long
set (1hr 20mins).

Total 1075m
